Bernard A. Smith is the owner and CEO of Med+Vets, a passionate advocate for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. He dedicates his life to uplifting fellow Veterans through strategic guidance and support. With a distinguished career across the Department of Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Army, he has amassed significant expertise in federal procurement, business strategy, and administration. His mentorship has empowered countless Veteran entrepreneurs to navigate federal contracting and build impactful businesses.
As a retired service-disabled Veteran, Mr. Smith brings valuable insight and empathy to his work. He holds an MBA in Health Services Administration, a Bachelor’s in Acquisition and Contract Management, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration along with VA Accreditation as a claims agent. Guided by his motto, “There’s a future in tomorrow,” he is dedicated to helping Veterans recognize and seize their opportunities for success.

What services do you offer for military veterans?
We provide a range of healthcare services for military veterans, including access to the Foreign Medical Program (FMP), wellness checks, mental health support, and assistance with navigating veteran benefits.
How can I access your free services through the Foreign Medical Program (FMP)?
To access our free services, please register with the FMP by completing the registration form. Send your completed form via email to hac.fmp@va.gov. Processing usually takes 4–6 weeks, and once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email to bring to your first appointment.
What types of healthcare services do you provide?
We offer comprehensive healthcare services, including primary care, specialty referrals, mental health services, and support in accessing additional veteran benefits.
How do I schedule an appointment?

What should I bring to my first appointment?
For your first visit, please bring all VA Disability Rating records to include your VA medication list, your Social Security number or VA Claim File Number, and your confirmation email from the FMP if applicable. This will help us provide you with the best care possible.
